eBay, macaroni and more

Today my sister went to a birthday party, and my parents took my brother to a pool party, and I turned down an offer from Scott to go to Ankit's party because he said it was a "cocktail" party. So being all alone at home, I had to make dinner for myself. I remembered that there was macaroni and cheese in the cupboard, so I boiled water and cooked some. After I drained the water out, I found out that we didn't have any milk, all that there was in the fridge was soymilk. Figuring it was close enough, I went ahead and made macaroni and cheese with that. But what I didn't realize was that soymilk is sweetened AND vanilla flavored. So I ended up with vanilla flavored macaroni and cheese. Gross. Then I had to throw it away.

eBay has been very good to me lately, I got a Joe Kennedy game used Rockies cap for 11 dollars, including shipping. I had my doubts, but I'm pretty sure it's 100% authentic, since it came with a signed certificate from the Rockies themselves. When I got it in the mail, the cap still had pieces of his hair attached to it. Now maybe that's borderline creepy, but I thought it was pretty darn cool. My mom, however, was not happy at the HUGE box it came in, and took the hat out of the box and threw it away when I wasn't home. Then my brother, who enjoys messing with my stuff, wore the cap an entire afternoon and now there are no more pieces of Joe Kennedy hair on the cap. I was really mad and yelled at my mom for letting Brian touch it. My mom, however, was not amused when I told her the reason why I was upset was because I wanted to preserve the hair. She thinks I've gone insane.

In addition to the cap, I got first row tickets behind the Diamond Level for the Cleveland series, and they only cost 15 dollars! The person who sold me the tickets said that she was planning to take a vacation here [she's from the East Coast] but had to cancel, and she'd rather someone take the tickets at way below face value [35 + 5 dollars in fees is what she paid] instead of letting them go to waste.

One of the perks about working at Target is getting first dibs on all the stuff as its being marked down. I bought some 4th of July stuff at 90% off. So what if I have no use for really ugly shirts that don't fit? I picked up a ton of stuff at 75% off too, including this wonderful box set of wrapping paper, ribbons and bows. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do with summer-themed wrapping paper either, but at the very least it's better than the Christmas themed wrapping paper my mom likes to get when that goes on sale after the holiday season is over.

Working at Target is still so fun, I almost feel guilty about being paid. The managers are really cool too. One of them, Jesse, always calls me Santa Cruz. Which is funny, because my 'boss'/editor in Santa Cruz calls me "Nebraska." But the best part about working at Target is that I get to work with Jing! Actually no, that's the worst part of working because all the guys there have crushes on her. In fact, they always come in and ask me when her next shift is. Last Tuesday, I was walking around after my shift was over and three of the guys [we'll call them J, E and B] came up to me and asked if she had a boyfriend. I had to tell her that she was already with someone and they were really disappointed.

I have another story about this that I haven't even told Jing yet... So like I said, all these guys keep wanting to get ahold of Jing's phone number, right? Obviously I wasn't going to give it to anyone. There's this other girl, Danielle, who works as a cashier. She's really pretty too, so she gets hit on alot as well. Anyway, this guy came in and gave her his phone number while she was ringing him up... Later on, E went to ask Danielle if she'd help him get Jing's phone number, and she said, "Sure, I'll help you out!" Then she went ahead and gave him the phone number of the guy who hit on her earlier in the day!

On a slightly depressing note, Hot Giants Fan is married :( [At least I know his name now.]
Oh yeah, and even Jing says he's hot.
That means he's really, really hot.
